Greetings from Pink POWERED BY MOSS!

The fall is a time of change with school starting and the NEW season really kicking in.

In New York it means Fashion Week, lots of new Art Openings, The Jewish New Year and lots of harvest activities. In this issue I have included 2 guest blog posts from our staff, One on The Last Supper Festival by our own Lilia Trenkova and an observation about the Sukkah competition that just happened here in Union Square, NYC, by Jesse Zryb.

PUBLIC ART
SUKKAH CITY

Although we were not participants in the Sukkah City competition it was a very lively and much anticipated event not only for the Jewish Community but, for architects, and sculptors worldwide. Take a look at these great Sukkah’s and see where religion and public art/architecture converge!

This weekend in New York, we had the opportunity to see a modern twist on the Sukkah, a temporary hut built for the Jewish harvest festival Sukkot that has dated back over 3,000 years. Union Square was transformed into “Sukkah City,” where you could find 12 radical dwellings that drew in more than 10,000 people on its first day.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
LAST SUPPER FESTIVAL

As we continue to play off religious themes we bring you The Last Supper Festival.  This event is a multimedia, project-based collaborative festival that addresses the act of consumption.

We sponsored the outdoor decor for the sixth annual Last Supper Festival at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn. The multi-media art and performance exhibition brings together artists from all over the world, and this year – close to 1,200 attendees! Two architectural designers and one of our own teamed up to create and install a tensile canopy accented by our Diamond stretch shapes.

PANDORA'S WORLD

With the beginning of school I wanted to bring you back to the spring where my daughter finished out her High School career at SMS – The Stratton Mountain School.

Take a look at the work we brought to the PROM this year on an AVATAR theme – Pandora’s World or Another Reality!

It was challenging jumping into a fairly traditional rustic venue to create Pandora’s World, Another Reality. Working with different parts of the Garden Line we were able to effectively create another world.

Take a look at the photos and I DID hear from the kids that we accomplished our task!

A word WITH Debra
So, even though it is fall and as the weather is cooling down our work is heating up!  It is a great time for the event industry! We are involved in all kinds of projects and to that end we have two really nice big juicy fabric structure builds that I can not tell you about just yet. One is completed and one is coming up fast so tune in next month where we give you the scoop!

Till then, Happy Birthday to all you Libra’s out there (I am one of them!) and keep those events coming!
